- QUICK SETUP:
-──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--
Simply run TKDINST.EXE. Its TKD's configuration program.
Its pretty self explanatory. The first option "(S)" is
for setup. This will setup the paths, registration codes,
and other important information need to run the IGM.
The second option "(I)" installs the game command line
into 3RDPARTY.DAT. The thrid option "(U)" uninstalls
the game. Erases the two lines from 3RDPARTY.DAT.
And the last option is "(E)" exits the configuration.
TKDINST.EXE creates the file TKD.CFG, which can be edited
with any text editor. SAMPLE.CFG is included to show
what TKD.CFG would usaully look like.
The King's Dilemma does not have to be ran from the main
lord directory. It can be ran from any separte directory.
This IGM is Multi-Node aware.
Please remember the values entered for how much gold and
gems the user earns depending on their level, is times
by how ever many food points they have collected. So choice
your amounts with that in mind. For a more detailed expla-
nation refer to Level Range Values.
- Level Range Values
-──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--──--
In TKDINST setup program, it has options for Gold Range,
Gem Range, and Gold Reward. This section will explain
each area for you.
· Gold Range
You will be asked 4 questions for range of a users level.
And for each range it will ask how much gold does the user
recieve for each food point they earn. Food points are what
the user receives for hunting and fishing in the game.
The ranges are:
■ Level 1 - 3
■ Level 4 - 6
■ Level 7 - 9
■ Level 10 - 12
For each range simply enter how much gold the should
earn.
Example:
The player is a level 2. He earns 10 food points in the
game. He choices he wants to exchange his 10 food points
for gold. So the IGM takes his 10 food points times how
ever much the value was for Gold Range 1 - 3. Lets say
its 100. So it would work like this:
10 Food Points X 100 = 1000 gold coins earned
This system is used so the sysop can decide how the much
the IGM helps out the user in LORD. The value can be
anywhere from 0 to 30,000.
· Gem Range
Gem range is exactly like Gold Range, except it deals with gems
instead. So again, say a user is Level 7. For Gem Range 7 - 9
you have a value of 4 gems. The player earns 10 food points in
the IGM, and wants to exchange them for gems:
10 Food Points / 5 X 4 = 8 gems earned
The players food points are divided by 5 so no matter what they
wont receive to many gems that would upset the game.
· Gold Reward
Each day the IGM is ran is randomly selects a value of 1
through 30. If the player collects as many food points as the
random value of 1 through 30, it then takes the amount you
entered and times it by a random number of 1 throught 5.
So say the player is Level 1, the random value of 1 - 30 comes
up as 12 for that day. The player collects 15 food points.
And you set the Gold Reward amount at 500. The player meets and
exceeds the goal of the day, so the game does the following:
The random value of 1 through 5 comes up as 3 lets say.
100 X 3 = 300 Gold coins earned
Its a system you have to play around with a little. The default
values of 100 - 400 for Gold Range, 1 - 4 for Gem Range, and 500
for Gold Reward, will always ensure a balanced game.

Thanks to Seth Robinson for Legend of the Red Dragon, great
game, that everyone loves!
Thanks to Bob Dalton and the team for the DDPlus kit.
Without that, TKD would never have been a reality, and
that goes for alot of other programs.
Special thanks to the beta team for testing it out:
